With the dawn of a new year, many of us make resolutions. Usually we make promises to improve or change ourselves – lose weight, exercise, be more patient and kind, learn a new skill, and on and on. Most of us “fall off the wagon” so to speak in a very short time. Scientific studies tell us it takes about 30 days to form a new habit which means the first month of the new year is critical to accomplishing any changes. Here is an idea for improving communication and comprehension skills in 2015. Play a Rhymes & ‘Nyms “solo” game every day for one month. Play with intention, with courage, and with resolve. Take time to check out each starter and play word using the in-game dictionary or other dictionary and thesaurus sources to fully explore all the word’s meanings and nuances. Enjoy and HAPPY NEW YEAR.
