Many years ago in high school I took a typing class. We learned proper finger placement on the keyboard, and speed and accuracy were emphasized. Our instructor gave us a “pangram” (a phrase that contains all the letters of the alphabet). Over and over we typed “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” Today I type on a tiny Iphone or Ipad screen using fingers or thumbs to play games or send texts and emails, and I make more errors than I care to admit. With the start of school, it may be a good time for all of us to resolve to check our word typing and spelling more closely to score points in Rhymes & ‘Nyms™ and with friends and teachers.
